Computer Building Competition:

Starts at the first
PatroTech Science Club workshop meeting in October 2011;
meetings on every 3rd Saturday. Three weeks
prior to the Youth Summit on Technology, students will
form their teams consisting of four members.
General information: This hands-on
workshop provides the students with instructions on the
fundamentals of constructing a computer from the
beginning to end by learning the inside of the computer;
mother board, memory, power supplies, rom, and etc.
They will also learn the basics of how to build a
network.
Program: An
introductory workshop for this program will be held at
the first Patro-Tech Science Club meeting on October 15,
2011. Monthly meetings will prepare students for a
computer assembly competition. Three weeks prior to the
Youth Summit on Technology students will form their team
consisting of four members and receive instructions on
how to assemble and disassemble a computer. The team
that assembles the computer first will be the winner.
Prize:
Every member of the winning team will receive a laptop.
Business and government support:
This activity is maintained through the support received
by team instructors and mentors. Several government
agencies will provide volunteers to assist the students
in their construction endeavors.
Fee: $40 for
the Computer Building Competition in addition to your
required Registration Fee for the Youth Summit
