Chair of the Department of Engineering & Aviation Sciences

“There are quite a few career tracks for an aerospace/aviation engineer.  As an aerospace engineer you will basically design different parts of the aircraft.  In aviation, you will operate the aircraft and can become a professional pilot or operating drones.”

Dr. Yuanwei Jin is a professor of engineering and Chair of the Department of Engineering and Aviation Sciences with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He teaches courses such as Digital Signal Processing, Electromagnetic Theory, Digital Control System, Remote Sensing and Image Processing to engineering students.

He holds a doctorate degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California. As Department Chair, he oversees two academic programs: engineering and aviation science. He helps students who often come from minority backgrounds to become competitive engineering or aviation professionals.
