Michael Briscoe – Engineer

Michael Briscoe, American Society of Naval Engineers
Michael Briscoe
Educator in Residence
American Society of Naval Engineers

“The industry for Naval Engineering is a little different where not many people think about being an engineer on a ship or being an engineer that designed ships.  But it is actually one of the highest paying fields in engineering.  It is a field where there’s a lot of people looking to retire in the next 10 years.

So, I am on board with the association to really help inspire students to consider this as a career when they are looking at different STEM possibilities.”

Mr. Briscoe has been the Educator in Residence at the American Society of Naval Engineers for over three years. He manages the FLEET video game, the Promoting Electric Propulsion collegiate competition, and assists with their On-Demand Learning offerings. In addition, he is completing his doctoral studies in Educational Psychology at George Mason University. He has a Bachelors in Mathematics and Historic Preservation from the University of Mary Washington and a Masters in Educational Policy Studies.
